Director Rohit Shetty's Simmba (Simba) starring Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood is not going to slow down anytime soon at the box office. The masala entertainer managed to cross Rs 100 crore mark in just 5 days of its release and it's currently on a record breaking spree setting new benchmarks in the domestic market.
The movie had received positive reviews across all quarters and the strong word of mouth ultimately got translated into big numbers at the ticket window. It is also responsible for slowing down the business of Shah Rukh Khan's recently released film Zero and Rocking Star Yash's Kannada film KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) which has been rocking in the Mumbai circuit.
Released across 4020 screens in India, Simmba proved to be a money spinner where the producers and film exhibitors are laughing all their way to the bank and serving audience with a heavy dose of entertainment.

Simmba has become Ranveer Singh's highest opener ever till date by collecting Rs 20.72 crore on the first day of its release beating Padmaavat which had earned Rs 19 crore on day 1. This is also Sara Ali Khan's highest earning movie after her debut film Kedarnath which collected Rs 7.25 crore on its opening day.
Rohit Shetty's 8th film to cross Rs 100 crore mark
By collecting Rs 139.03 crore in 6 days, Simmba has become director Rohit Shetty's 8th film to cross Rs 100 crore mark after Golmaal 3, Golmaal Again, Singham, Singham Returns, Chennai Express, Dilwale and Bol Bachchan.
Top 10 highest grossing Bollywood movies of 2018
With its thunderous run at the box office, Simmba has now secured the 7th position in the top 10 list of highest grossing movies of 2018 by beating the lifetime box office collections of movies like Raid, Raazi, Stree and Badhaai Ho. The movie will now surpass the lifetime biz of Aamir Khan's Thugs Of Hindostan, Baaghi 2, Race 3 and 2.0 (Hindi) to become the third highest grossing movie of 2018. It remains to be seen if Simmba will be able to beat Padmaavat (Rs 300 crore) and Sanju (Rs 341.22 crore) lifetime business in its entire run.
