Ranveer Singh is rumoured to be ready to step in for a role left by Imran Khan.
Khan was all set to star in director Vikramaditya Motwane's "Bhavesh Joshi" but the actor opted out of the film recently. And now, reports have hinted that Singh, who had worked with Motwane in "Lootera" (2013), has been approached for the part.
Singh, however, is reportedly busy with "Kill Dill" and has not confirmed his association with the project yet. Motwane had recently confirmed Khan's exit.
"Yes, Imran Khan is not doing my film. We will have to figure a way out now. I am back to working on the script," Motwane told Mumbai Mirror.
"Bhanvesh Joshi" was initially to expected to start rolling from February but got delayed, owing to Khan's insistence on spending time with his pregnant wife Avantika. The actor's exit from the project was also understood to be for the same reason.
The film, produced by Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Films, is a social drama and is based on a Gujarati immigrant settled in Mumbai.
Meanwhile, it seems Singh, is the dominant choice of filmmakers this season. The actor already has Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne Do" and "Kill Dill" under his belt and is also in advanced talks for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project "Bajirao Mastani".
And now, it has also come out that Singh has replaced Ranbir Kapoor in Aditya Chopra's next. Kapoor was initially approached by the "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" director but was dropped, after the "Besharam" actor quoted a skyrocketing sum as fee. And the filmmaker then got back YRF's favourite protege Singh onboard, reported Daily Bhaskar.
