Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty are teaming up, and it's not for a film. The commercial they are collaborating for will reportedly feature action-packed scenes and be filmed in the first week of April at Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City.
"The project kicks off in Hyderabad with a high-powered action sequence. Rohit and Ranveer coming together is exciting because they have very different energies, which lends itself to creativity. Ranveer, under Shetty's guidance, will be performing stunts, like he's never done before," a source in the know told DNA.
Writer-director Milap Zaveri is said to have been instrumental in bringing the two together for the assignment. Ranveer had mastered hand-to-hand combat for "Gunday," but with the ad film he is set to foray into hard-core action.
"Rohit is known for the fabulous action in his films, stunts which he choreographs himself along with his stunt masters," the source added.
For most of last year, there were rumours of Rohit and Ranveer coming together for "Ram Lakhan" remake. Although both had denied the reports, the speculations continued. Fans were excited about the project as it would feature Ranveer in a different role.
There was a strong buzz that Ranveer rejected the project because he wasn't too keen on sharing screen space with another actor. This decision had reportedly left Rohit in shock as Ranveer had shown interest in the remake.
In other news, the young actor is gearing up for Aditya Chopra's "Befikre." The four-month-long Paris shoot begins in April. The breezy romantic-comedy arrives in theatres Dec. 9 and also features Vaani Kapoor.
"I'm happy that I'm collaborating with Adi sir on his freshest story and endeavour. Whatever you expect normally out of an Aditya Chopra film, this is unlike anything that he's made before," Ranveer told IANS last year.
