Ranveer Singh has finally given his nod to the Sanjay Leela Bhansali's ambitious project "Bajirao Mastani."
Singh will reportedly play the role of a Maratha general Bajirao in the period drama and might go bald for the film, which is expected to be shot for a period of 11 months.
The actor was forced to pick the Bhansali film over Karan Johar's "Shuddhi," since both the films came up with same shooting as well as release dates. The actor reluctantly let go "Shuddhi" and agreed to the Bhansali's project since the "Black" director approached him first, reported Mumbai Mirror.
Previously Singh's spokesperson had confirmed that the actor was in advanced talks for the Karan Johar film, but as per the latest development, it is said that the filmmaker has approached Aamir Khan for his lavish project.
Meanwhile, recent reports had carried that Sanjay Leela Bhansali's favourite, Deepika Padukone, had also backed out of his project due to date clashes with Karan Johar's "Shuddhi," to which she had previously committed.
And now a report by The Times of India claims that Bhansali is considering Katrina Kaif for the role of Mastani. Interestingly, Kaif's name was suggested to the director by none other than her ex-flame Salman Khan, long time ago when the duo was dating.
Kaif's consideration for the female lead in the magnum opus cannot be confirmed, but if the actress gets signed, a new pair in Singh and Kaif could be witnessed.
Ex-flames Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor have already worked in the blockbuster "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani", and if their present lovers, Singh and Kaif get cast together, it could only be an interesting development as well.
