"Ram Leela" actor Ranveer Singh was discharged from Mumbai's Hinduja Hospital on Thursday, at around 10 pm.
The 28-year-old had contracted dengue fever and was in hospital for more than a week. His condition turned serious in the last few days, but is now responding well to the treatment.
Ranveer is recovering fast, but doctors have still advised him to take rest for at least two weeks.
The actor walked out of the hospital in jeans, a black T-shirt underneath a brown leather jacket and a cap. He looked a little tired but still posed for the cameras and his fans who had gathered outside the hospital.
His "Ram Leela" co-star Deepika Padukone was by his side when he was leaving the hospital. But after seeing the media personnel, the actress made a separate exit later.
Ranveer contracted an infection and high fever when he was shooting for his film "Gunday" in Durgapur, West Bengal. Despite having high fever the actor continued shooting for the film.
He is now taking rest and recuperating at his Bandra residence as advised by doctors. He will soon be seen in action for the promotion and music launch of his upcoming film "Ram Leela".
The actor took to Twitter to thank all his fans and well-wishers for their blessings. "Your love & blessings have helped me fight this illness ! Thank you all for the warmth & wishes that helped me tide over my weakest hour," he said on Thursday.
