The honeymoon phase in Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone's love affair seems to have run its course. According to fresh reports, the young star couple seem to be having compatibility issues, the alleged reason why Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif called it quits.
According to a BollywoodLife report, Padukone was spotted outside Sanjay Leela Bhansali's office looking "disheartened" and it was her first appearance since the news of their split broke. Apparently, the actors are having tough time putting up with each other, but they haven't parted ways.
But, a quick browse through Singh's statements on the sidelines of Befikre trailer launch (in Paris) says otherwise. While Singh recalled a Parisian vacation with a lover, an audience member interrupted asking if he was referring to the one he took with Deepika.
"Sir, you have assumed that I have a girlfriend. I had come many years ago with my girlfriend. I have also had a Parisian girlfriend by the way. A beautiful Moroccan girl," Singh explained. And this came weeks after Padukone told a publication that she wasn't planning to get married anytime soon.
However, Singh's latest thoughts on love are enough to put a lid on the tabloid speculations. He told the Press trust of India that loving someone is a pure emotion, which connects souls.
"When you are a professional actor, then by default you are a public figure. I have faced a lot of scrutiny about my personal life. There have been instances in my earlier years in the showbiz where I used to be perturbed, but I don't anymore," Singh added when asked about what he thought about link-up rumours.
Singh said he is now mature and understands that he cannot let gossip affect him. The Befikre star is sure that public memory is short and "therefore, the effect should be in limited capacity."
