Actress Rani Mukherjee, who recently finished her "Temptation Reloaded" tour, celebrated Durga Puja with her family in Mumbai on the special occassion of Maha Ashtami.
On Saturday, Rani was spotted in Sarbojanin Durga Puja along with her parents - Ram and Krishna Mukherjee. Her cousins, including Kajol, Ayan Mukherjee and Sharbani Mukherjee, had already observed Durga Puja on 10 October in Juhu.
Rani was on a 10-day musical tour with Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit-Nene and other B-town stars since 1 October. Due to the 10-day tour, she was not able to attend the first three days of the puja with her cousins.
Initially, Rani was not going to be a part of the "Temptation Reloaded" team due to the puja. She agreed to join the tour only when Shah Rukh made a special request.
The 35-year-old actress was the quintessential Bengali in a golden sari with red and pink border. She kept her makeup simple but chose to accentuate her jewellery with a heavy gold chain and some bangles. Apart from Rani and her parents, yesteryear actress Moushumi Chatterjee and actress Sharbani Mukherjee were also seen at the event.
The Mukherjee family has been observing the puja for years at their Santa Cruz bungalow, a tradition that was started by family patriarch Shashadhar Mukerji. But the past few years have seen them hosting grand parties at a five-star hotel in Mumbai.
