Ranbir Kapoor's much written about superhero film "Dragon" depends heavily on the box office performance of Tiger Shroff's just-released action-drama "A Flying Jatt."
Apparently, Ranbir's film will go into pre-production stage if Tiger's "A Flying Jatt" does well. According to a SKJ Bollywood News report, producer Karan Johar will monitor's the film's run at the box office and then decide if he wants to go ahead with "Dragon" or not.
"If, God forbid, 'Jatt' underperforms then Karan would produce another film with the potent Ayan Mukerjee-Ranbir-Alia team. It's a mix too precious to be squandered on an iffy project," an insider told the web portal.
Interestingly, director Ayan Mukerji had said that "Dragon" isn't a superhero film, it's more of an adventure-fantasy kind of a project. He also said that the makers will plan a trilogy if the viewers accept the first one.
What else do we know about the film?
The first schedule of "Dragon" was to roll sometime this month, for which Ranbir was training with UFC movement coach Ido Portal in Berlin, Germany. "Ranbir is extremely kicked about it as it's a fight and movement technique that no Bollywood actor has done before. He is packing in three months of training into a two-week period as time's short," DNA quoted a source as saying.
In other news, Ranbir will be next seen in Karan's 6th directorial venture "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil," which releases on Oct. 28. The romantic-drama stars Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Fawad Khan and Saif Ali Khan in key roles.
