Ranbir Kapoor, who has never gone shirtless for a film after the infamous 'towel' dance sequence in "Saawariya", has kick-started an intense workout regime to attain a certain look for his upcoming film.
"He was recently spotted on the sets of 'Roy' with his co-star Jacqueline Fernandez, and has begun an intense workout at the gym and is also following a strict diet in order to prep for his next," states a Deccan Chronicle report.
His trainer, Marika Johansson confirmed that the new look would be for his upcoming film. The actor, who is currently shooting for "Roy", has been in the news for his quirky new avatar. However, Imitiaz Ali's "Tamasha", Anurag Basu's "Jagga Jasoos" and Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" are also in the pipeline.
"Just been meeting my client and friend @ranbirkapoor. I am making sure he gets ready for his upcoming movie with my diet snd @6packmeal food. After one week he is already feeling better. We have a lot to do together now. Exciting and challenging to work with this great guy," posted Johansson on her Facebook page.
But the question remains if he will, like the senior batch of actors – Shah Rukh, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan – do a shirtless shot for his fans. Only time will tell.
Interestingly, ahead of the release of his blockbuster film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" with ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, the actor said he would do a "frontal nude" if needed. "I am shameless in front of the camera. I am even willing to do frontal nudity if the director wants me to," Bollywood Life quoted the actor.
But, the actor also added that he was awkward while going butt-naked for the towel scene in "Saawariya". "There was not a moment of awkwardness when I did that scene in 'Saawariya'. I was butt naked in front of strangers on the set and I wasn't ashamed of myself. People started relating to me and perhaps came to theatres because of that scene."
