After winning millions of hearts, Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly set to debut as producer in a joint venture with filmmaker Anurag Basu.
Although the actor did not reveal if he would don the role of producer for the film, he confirmed that he is in talks with Basu for the upcoming project titled "Jagga Jasoos".
"I'm in talks with Anurag for his new film," Ranbir told Hindustan Times.
According to reports, Ranbir will be playing the role of a detective in his debut production venture.
Giving a brief about the project a source close to the venture who wished not to be named said, "Anurag is still working on the script, and is in touch with Ranbir about the storyline. The film is kind of Sherlock Holmes-meets-James Bond-meets-Mission Impossible."
"It will have everything a typical blockbuster has - music, comedy and some action. The moment Ranbir and Anurag heard the idea, they decided to work on it," the source added.
"Jagga Jasoos" is expected to go on floors early next year.
Currently, Ranbir along with co-star Deepika Padukone is promoting upcoming film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" that will hit the screens on 31 May.
Ranbir is also filming for Abhinav Kashyap's second directorial venture titled "Besharam" in which he will share screen space with his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh. The film which comes with the tag line 'Na sammaan ka moh, na apmaan ka bhay' also stars Indian-Australian actress Pallavi Sharda. "Besharam" will release on 3 October.
After "Besharam", Ranbir will reportedly commence the shooting for Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" opposite Anushka Sharma.
