Bollywood's alleged couple Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will pair up for filmmaker Anurag Basu's upcoming film "Jagga Jasoos", according to reports.
The film will mark Ranbir's debut as a producer in a joint venture with filmmaker Anurag Basu under the banner of Picture Shuru Productions.
It was initially speculated that Priyanka Chopra would play the female lead, but Katrina has apparently been finalised for the film which will mark her reunion with Ranbir after a three-year gap post the release of Prakash Jha's "Rajneeti". If everything goes well, this will the third time that Ranbir and Katrina will share screen space.
Revealing details about the developments of the project, a source said, "Anurag has met Katrina regarding the project and the script is currently with the actress. He is busy putting together other aspects of the film," Times Of India reported.
"The onscreen chemistry between Ranbir and Katrina was evident in both Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani and Raajneeti. The talks are at an advanced stage and if all goes well, she will be cast opposite Ranbir in the film," the source added.
Ranbir will reportedly play the role of a detective in his debut production venture.
Giving a brief about the project a source close to the venture said, "Anurag is still working on the script, and is in touch with Ranbir about the storyline. The film is kind of Sherlock Holmes-meets-James Bond-meets-Mission Impossible," Hindustan Times reported.
Ranbir is presently shooting for Abhinav Kashyap's "Besharam" and has also commenced filming for Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet". Katrina has reportedly wrapped the shooting of "Dhoom 3" and will soon resume shooting for Hrithik Roshan starrer "Bang Bang".
