Post the back-to-back success of her four films last year, Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is in demand with top filmmakers approaching her to offer roles.
If latest reports are to be trusted, then "Besharam" actor Ranbir Kapoor has suggested his ex-girlfriend's name to Ayan Mukherji for the role of the lead actress in the upcoming superhero flick. which features Ranbir as the protagonist. The "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" director was apparently planning to cast Ranbir's current love interest Katrina Kaif.
But Ranbir has request Ayan to sign his "YJHD" co-star Deepika, instead of Katrina, DNA reported.
Ex-flames Deepika and Ranbir's chemistry in "YJHD" worked wonders for the film and the romantic comedy became a blockbuster hit of the year. Following the success of that film, Ranbir believes that audiences want to see him with Deepika together.
"Ranbir Kapoor has requested his friend Ayan Mukerji to sign his ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone and not lady love Katrina Kaif for his next superhero film. He also feels that the audience wants to see him paired with Dips," DNA quoted a source as saying.
Katrina and Ayan share a great bond and she was apparently the first choice for the lead actress' role in "YJHD". But due to date issues she backed out and Deepika got the role.
Ayan wants to feature the current lovebirds in the upcoming film, but Ranbir's request has left him in dilemma.
"Ranbir's request has left Ayan in a quandry as he's fond of both Katrina and RK and was keen to work with them together," DNA reported.
