Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor has been roped in as the brand ambassador of Renault India, which is celebrating its fourth year anniversary in the country this July.
Announcing Renault's partnership with Ranbir Kapoor, the company also released a teaser video underlying the brand's promise, 'Passion For Life'. Renault currently sells six models in India and will be launching Kwid small car during the festive season of this year.
Kwid, which is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh, will be powered by an 800 cc three-cylinder petrol engine under the hood.
Kwid, which will take on the likes of Maruti Alto K10 and Hyundai Eon in India, is based on the all-new platform, CMF-A, and is expected to pack features like optional air bags, Media Nav multimedia and navigation system with Bluetooth connectivity. The car's 800 cc three-cylinder petrol mill is expected to churn out 57bhp power with either a five-speed gearbox or AMT.
"Renault is currently celebrating its fourth year anniversary in India and in this eventful month it gives me immense pleasure to announce Ranbir Kapoor as Renault's brand ambassador. Being a fourth generation actor who personifies the iconic lineage of the Kapoor family, he ideally portrays a rare blend of talent, class, intelligence and popularity that complements Renault's legacy and brand ethos which hinges on three pillars - vibrant, forward looking and connected to people," NDTV Auto quoted Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India Operations.
