Fans of Bollywood arch rivals - Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, have gone into a frenzy after the trailer launch of Ranbir Kapoor starrer "Besharam", alleging that the young star was mocking the two actors in the film.
The promo shows Ranbir rendering Shah Rukh's famous song "Tujhe Dekha To Ye Jaana Sanam'" from the film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (DDLJ) and he is seen urinating in mustard fields, depicting the scenario in which the actual song was shoot.
In addition, Ranbir's dialogue with reference to Salman's role of Chulbul Pandey from the film "Dabangg" has irked Shah Rukh and Salman's fans. In the promo of "Besharam" Ranbir is heard saying: "Naam Chulbul rakhne se, koi Dabangg nai banjaata."
"Ranbir Kapoor mocking SRK in an iconic Tujhe Dekha song while peeing in the #Besharam trailer proves that he still needs to grow up. #crap (sic)," Twitter user BoldMonk posted on the micro-blogging website. Another user, who goes by the name 'King of Bollywood' wrote, "Ranbir copies SRK poise and Salman style. Both r impossible to do (sic)."
On the other hand, Ranbir received several compliments for his performance. "The difference between SRK and Ranbir isn't just the age. It's that the former tries too hard, and the latter is utterly effortless", film critic Mihir Fadnavis tweeted.
Meanwhile, the film's director Abhinav Kashyap of "Dabangg" fame claimed that Ranbir's dialogues with reference to Chulbul was not implied to Salman. "There was no glimpse of Salman. Chulbul is a name, and it has come from me. I can make fun of myself," Kashyap said during the press conference of the film's launch. He added that the popular track from "DDLJ" was included in the trailer to convey to the audience that the film revolves around romance.
The trailer of "Besharam", also starring Ranbir's parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh, has fetched over one million views so far post its launch on 30 July.
