Former lovers Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor may once again reunite on screen, and this time for an Ayan Mukerji film. It is being said that the director is willing to delay his ambitious fantasy-adventure project with the Kapoor scion and Alia Bhatt to accommodate this other film.
"If Deepika consents, Ayan will definitely keep the superman film at the backburner. He is simply waiting for her to get back with her final decision," an insider told SpotboyE. This news comes close on the heels of the secret meetings reported between Deepika and Ranbir.
In March, when Deepika was in India for a brief period of time to attend a friend's wedding, she had reportedly visited Ranbir's residence. Although rumours were rife that she was there only to help him move on from his break-up with Katrina Kaif, it was later learnt that they were discussing work all the while.
Going by their schedule for the year, the actors could easily take up the mentioned project. While Deepika is a few months into the shoot of "XXX: The Return of Xander Cage," in which she plays girlfriend to Vin Diesel, Ranbir is yet to begin prep for the Sanjay Dutt biopic.
In other news, Ayan's film with Ranbir and Alia will be made into a trilogy but only if the audience enjoys the first one, which will reportedly be rolled latter half of the year. "I hope it will be into three instalments, if it is accepted by the audience. We are hoping to start making the film in the second half of this year," Ayan told Absolute India News.
