Puneet Rajkumar starrer "Rana Vikrama" is off to a good start at the box office. The Kannada movie has performed well in the first two days and is going strong at the collection centres.
"Rana Vikrama" was released in over 200 screens in Karnataka and 40 screens outside the state on 10 April. On the first day, the film had 112 shows in Bengaluru alone and has witnessed 90% occupancy on an average.
Apart from Karnataka, "Rana Vikrama" has released in other state centres including Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune and Delhi, where the shows have ran into packed houses.
The impressive part of the "Rana Vikrama" story is that the film has managed to survive the tough competition posed by Telugu movie "S/o Satyamurthy" starring Allu Arjun, Samantha and our own Real Star Upendra in Bengaluru.
"S/o Satyamurthy" had more shows than the Kannada movie and it was expected that to some extent it would affect "Rana Vikrama". However, in the end, the Puneet Rajkumar starrer film has emerged successful.
The early predictions say that "Rana Vikrama" had earned about ₹2.2 crore on the first day and about ₹1.8 crore on the second day to take its tally to ₹4 crore in two days. The official figures are yet to be revealed.
Going by the advance booking figures, "Rana Vikrama", which is directed by Pawan Wadeyar, will have a good day at collection centres on Sunday as well. It might possibly beat the collection of the first and the second days and become the highest grossing day in the first weekend.
