"RV" which released on Friday (11 October), has fetched an opening day share of ₹8.7 crore in AP, according to AndhraBoxOffice. The action-packed entertainer received its highest share amounting to ₹2.39 crore from Nizam, followed by Ceeded with ₹1.88 crore.
Here is the break-up of "RV" first day share: ₹2.39 crore in Nizam, ₹1.88 crore in Ceeded, ₹64 lakh in Vizag, ₹75 lakh in East, ₹73 Lakh in West, 56 lakh in Krishna, ₹1.29 crore in Guntur and ₹46 lakh in Nellore. The film's first day share from AP is pegged at ₹8.7 crore.
"RV" has failed to break "Attarintiki Daredi" first day AP collections, which stands at ₹10.75 crore. In fact, the Jr NTR starrer has not even surpassed "Baadshah" day one share which amounts to ₹9.25 crore.
Directed by Harish Shankar, "RV" has Jr NTR appearing as a college student. Samantha plays the female lead, while Shruti Haasan appears in a special role.
The film opened to mixed reviews from critics, who have termed it as a revenge drama with a paper-thin storyline. However, Jr NTR's acting skills and dancing abilities have won accolades from the critics and the audience alike.
Producer Dil Raju released the film on Friday to cash in on the Dussehra holidays. While the first day collections are pretty good, it remains to be seen if the Jr NTR starrer will be able to maintain its momentum during the opening weekend. Mixed reviews might affect the collections of the Jr NTR starrer in the future. But, we need to wait a little longer to find out how the film fares in the first three days.
Meanwhile, "RV" makers have decided to trim the film by around 9 minutes. Confirming the news, AndhraBoxOffice tweeted, "#RamayyaVastavayya wil be trimmed by appx 9 mins. New 157+ mins version will be shown from After Noon / Evening shows in all Centers."
