Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's latest release "Ram-leela", which entered the century club, is all set to cross the "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" domestic total.
The desi version of William Shakespeare's epic love story "Romeo and Juliet" is doing decent collections in the Indian markets. The romantic drama, directed and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has reached the ₹100 crore club in India and is now eyeing to beat Farhan Akhtar's sports biopic "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" total.
"Ram-leela" has already become the fifth highest grosser of the year, raking in ₹107.50 crore till its third Friday. It requires one crore more to become the fourth highest grosser of the year.
The box office earnings of "Ram-leela" is not as good as one would expect from a Bhansali flick but still the film has taken a place in the top grosser films of the year.
Running in its third week, the box office income of "Ram-leela" has not slowed down. It also remained unaffected with newly released films like "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein", "Singh Saab The Great" and "Bullett Raja".
Made on a budget of around ₹30 to ₹35 crore, the revenue of the film is quite high compared to other big budget films like "Krrish 3" and "Chennai Express".
The decent start at the box office in its third week suggests the film would take its overall domestic total to around ₹112 to ₹115 crore.
