Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone's latest outing "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" has embarked on a fantastic start on the first day of its release (15 November).
"Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" has registered approximately 70-75 percent theatre occupancy on Friday in places such as Delhi, C.I. and U.P, whereas its theatre occupancy is much higher in places such as Rajasthan and Gujarat, reported BollywoodHungama.
The romantic-drama film faced legal issues ahead of its release, which affected its advance booking. However, the film has received a good opening on its debut day and is expected to perform much better in the evening and night shows on Friday. The film is likely to witness good business on Saturday and Sunday as the film has been getting rave reviews from critics and audience alike.
Normally, first weekend collections of a film are very crucial. "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" is expected to put out a good total in its first weekend. The film is likely to be preferred over Hrithik Roshan's "Krrish 3", the superhero flick, which is so far having a good run at the box office.
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the Ranveer-Deepika starrer is the latest film to have adapted William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet." Bollywood's last adaptation of the love story was Prateik Babbar's "Issaq." The film received negative reviews from critics and failed to set the cash registers ringing. However, "Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela" has been receiving accolades from all quarters. Critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh has claimed that the film is the most accomplished work of Bhansali till date.
The electrifying chemistry between the lead pair has also come in for real appreciation. Critics believe that the romantic-drama will take Ranveer Singh to greater heights. The film could turn out to be Deepika Padukone's fourth hit of the year after "Race 2", "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Chennai Express."
