Ram Charan's "Yevadu" is all set to hit the screens on 19 December.
"Yevadu" was expected to get released on 31 July, but the release date was pushed further in a bid to avoid a clash with Pawan Kalyan's "Attarintiki Daredi" (AD), which was initially slated to release on 7 August. "AD" did not release on the the scheduled date due to the Samaikhya Andhra protests. The film finally made it to the screens only on 27 September.
The release of Ram Charan's "Yevadu" has been postponed twice - once in September and then in October. Speculations were rife as to when the film will see the day of light. On Wednesday (16 October), the film's producer Dil Raju confirmed in a press note that "Yevadu" will be out on screens on 19 December.
Apparently, Dil Raju is planning to cash in on the Christmas holidays in the last month of the year. As of now, there are no other big Telugu releases slated during that period. But there are biggies from other languages which might affect "Yevadu's" prospects, particularly in the overseas markets.
Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan" ("Vikramasimha") will hit the screens in less than a week prior to "Yevadu" release. Moreover, Aamir Khan's Hindi film "Dhoom 3" is all set to release on 20 December. While "Yevadu" might get more number of screens in Andhra Pradesh, there might be strong competition to book theatres in key overseas markets including the US.
Directed by Vamsi Pidipally, "Yevadu" is touted to be an action-packed entertainer. The Ram Charan starrer has Shruti Haasan, Amy Jackson and Sai Kumar in pivotal roles. Allu Arjun and Kajal Aggarwal also make special appearances in the film.
Ram Charan has high hopes on "Yevadu", following the failure of his last release "Thoofan" ("Zanjeer" in Hindi). It remains to be seen if the film will impress the audience and emerge as a winner.
