Actress Rakul Preet Singh, who is the new sensation in T-town, has reportedly replaced popular South Indian actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Ram Charan Teja's next film to be directed by Srinu Vaitla.
It was rumoured recently that the makers of Cherry's forthcoming movie were keen on casting Samantha for the female lead in the film. The actress was also excited to work with Ram and reportedly gave oral consent.
But latest reports suggest that Samantha is busy with "10 Enradhukulla" and couple of other Tamil and Telugu projects. The actress was unable to accommodate dates for this Telugu film. Both Samantha and Charan are happy about the development and may work together later, reports Deccan Chronicle.
After Samantha opted out of this untitled project, Rakul Preet Singh seems to have been roped in. A rumour is doing rounds that the producers have replaced Samantha due to budget constraints. Without divulging details, a source close to the unit has confirmed her replacement.
"Samantha liked the script very much and she was all game to be part of the project. However, things took a different due to contrasting perceptions. Wasting no time, the makers have immediately replaced Samantha with Rakul Preet in the project," The Times of India quoted the source as saying.
It should be said here that Samantha has worked with all leading Telugu actors such as Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Junior NTR, Nagarjuna, Siddhartha, Nani and Naga Chaitanya, but never with Ram Charan. When the offer came her way, she has missed it out in the last moment.
This yet-to-be titled projected is touted to be an action comedy entertainer. Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan are reportedly working on the script of the film, which has been tentatively titled "My Name is Raju". "Kolaveri Di" fame Anirudh Ravichandar is the music director for the film, which is produced by DVV Danayya under the banner Universal Media.
