Shobhaa De is one of the thousands of people who believe that superstar Rajnikanth can make it big in politics. The columnist-novelist has urged the actor to ignore protesters and join politics.
Speculations about Rajinikanth's entry into politics started doing the rounds after he interacted with his fans at a marriage hall in Chennai for five days. The actor said that he is not taking a plunge into politics right now. But millions of his fans requested him to enter politics immediately, and Shobhaa De is one among them. She tweeted on May 20: "Rajni Saar, just do it!"
Some fringe groups are protesting against Rajinikanth in front of his house, demanding that he should not enter the domain. Shobhaa De once again took to her Twitter handle and urged Rajini to ignore the protesters. She wrote: "Rajnikanth Saar, ignore protesters. Do the right thing. Join politics. You will be bigger than the biggest."
Soon after speculations about Rajini's political entry started floating, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy attacked the actor, saying that he is not a Tamilian and that he would fail if he decides to join politics. Shobhaa De also took a dig at the BJP leader, and said that his bullets are powerless now. She tweeted: "Bullet Swamy's gun is gone! What will he do with all those dud bullets now?"
However, millions of fans want Rajini to enter politics to save Tamil Nadu from the crisis that was created after Jayalalitha's death. But the actor is yet to make up his mind. "God decides what we have to do in life. Right now, he wants me to be an actor and I'm fulfilling my responsibility. If God willing, I will enter politics tomorrow. If I enter, I will be very truthful and will not entertain people who are in this to make money. I won't work with such people," he had said recently.
