Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office. The horror-comedy has been dominating the domestic market with its dream run and has overpowered new Hindi releases like Paltan, Gali Guleiyan and Laila Majnu.
The Amar Kaushik directorial has already recovered a substantial chunk of investment from non-theatrical avenues and earned a profitable amount of Rs 32.27 crore in the first week of its release.
The winning streak of Stree has continued in the second week as well where it earned Rs 4.39 crore on Friday, Rs 7.63 crore on Saturday and Rs 9.88 crore on Sunday. Though Stree collections declined by 32.14 percent because of the less number of screens [Week 1: 1950; Week 2: 1770], it is still riding high on the positive word of mouth among the audience. The total box office collections of Stree now stands at Rs 82.29 crore and inching closer to the coveted Rs 100 crore mark.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share Stree day-wise box office collection.
"There's no stopping this one... #Stree continues its DREAM RUN... Overpowers all new *Hindi* releases by a huge margin... En route to ₹ 100 cr Club... [Week 2] Fri 4.39 cr, Sat 7.63 cr, Sun 9.88 cr. Total: ₹ 82.29 cr. India biz," Taran tweeted.
Stree is expected to cross Rs 100 crore mark by the end of the second week and become one of the blockbuster movies of 2018.
