Just a day after reports had it that Rajinikanth will be part of the Tamil remake of the Malayalam movie "Bhaskar the Rascal," the PRO of the actor has claimed that the news is not true.
"News spreading n media abt #superstar doing#BaskarTheRascal remake n Tamil is untrue @soundaryaarajni@ash_r_dhanush @latharajnikanth," Riaz K Ahmed has tweeted on his Twitter page Saturday, Feb. 20.
The reports on Rajinikanth's association with the remake version of the Mammootty-Nayantara starrer hit the news after the movie's director Siddique recently confirmed about the same to a leading Malayalam daily. "It's not Ajith but Rajinikanth who will do the lead role in the remake of 'Bhaskar the Rascal.' Rajini was impressed after watching the Mammootty-starrer. Even the producer is ready and an advance amount has also been paid. We need to get Rajini's dates. He just wrapped up the shooting of the Tamil movie "Kabali," and has to complete the filming of Shankar's "Enthiran 2.0" as well. Only after that will we get his date, and I hope the film will go on floors by next year," Siddique had told Manorama Online.
Earlier, reports also suggested that Thala Ajith was approached to do the lead role in the remake of the family comedy entertainer, which made good box office business in India. The movie even completed 100 days of theatrical run in Kerala. With the latest announcement by Rajinikanth's PRO, seems like the Tamil audience have to wait for some more time to know more about the cast and crew of the upcoming movie.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is also said to be part of the Tamil remake of Shivaraj Kumar's latest Kannada movie "Shivalinga" and will be next seen in "Kabali" and "Enthiran 2.0."
