Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming action thriller film "Lingaa" is making waves in the film industry.
The audience as well as the entire Indian entertainment industry are awestruck by the film's trailer and songs.
The audio launch function, which was held in Sathyam Studios, Chennai was attended by some of the biggest stalwarts of the industry. Director KS Ravikumar, Rajinikanth and others involved in the making of the movie were much appreciated for their efforts in making this magnum opus.
Filmmaker Shankar, who is currently busy with the post production works of his upcoming Vikram starrer "I" also graced the event. The director, who was totally impressed with the film's trailer said that "Lingaa" will break all the records of his Rajini starrer "Enthiran" and added that he is surprised with the speed at which the shooting of the film was completed.
"How does Ravi Kumar sir finish his films so quickly? I've been told the business of the film ('Lingaa') has already surpassed 'Enthiran'. I am sure it will do much better than any of Rajini sir's films," said Shankar at the launch event.
Shankar had earlier directed Rajinikanth in his movies "Robot"/ "Enthiran" (2010) and "Sivaji" (2007), which made box office hits.
Meanwhile, Ravikumar revealed that it was a causal talk, which led to the making of "Lingaa". Apparently, the director was discussing the storyline with Rajini and the actor instantly agreed for the project and asked him to complete it within five months.
The latest reports are that the Indian theatrical rights of "Lingaa" (all language versions) is grabbed by Eros International at a record price. However, the details of the contract are not yet revealed by anyone associated with the movie. The music rights are also bagged by Eros music.
"Lingaa", which also has Anushka Shetty and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead is expected to hit the screens for Rajinikanth's birthday, on 12 December.
