This Friday South box office will witness the clash of two big films, Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiiyaan" ("Vikrama Simha" in Telugu) and Akkineni multi starrer "Manam".
Rajinikanth's magnum opus film was initially scheduled to release on 9 May but the makers postponed the screening to 23 May due to certain technical problems. However, the delay in the release will affect other language films in South.
"Kochadaiiyaan" is one of the most awaited films in South, so is Nagarjuna's "Manam," but both the films will face competition at the collection centers.
"Kochadaiiyaan," which is India's first 3D film using photorealistic motion capturing techniques is set for a grand opening in India as well as overseas market. The Telugu version of the film titled "Vikrama Simha" has limited screen counts in Andhra Pradesh, but the advance booking has got good response.
Not only in AP, the film's pre-booking has got fantastic response in theaters in Chennai and other parts of Tamil Nadu. Initially, it was expected that the delay in the release would affect the buzz, but the response is still positive.

"Manam" which is a family drama film starring Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya in important roles has created the buzz in the industry with the help of its marketing strategy.
The trailer and songs of the film, which tells the story of three generation, is already a hit among the masses. Also, due to the demise of legendary ANR, the film is expected to do well at the box office.
The advance booking for the family entertainer was opened on Monday and since then it has received fantastic response. The film has registered more than 50% advance booking even before the release date, according to One India.
Both the films have the strong buzz to pull the crowd towards itself, but keeping in mind the popularity of megastar Rajinikanth, "Vikrama Simha" can give tough competition to "Manam".
With two big films, fans will get double treat this summer at the box office. But it remains to be seen which film will emerge as a winner.
