Rajinikanth's Kabali, which hit the screens on July 22, is heading towards completing its 75-day run in theatres. The multilingual project will reach the mark next week.
Kabali is reportedly being played in over 45 screens in Tamil Nadu. The film continues to have good viewership during weekends even after so many days. The Kollywood flick will complete its 75-day run next week and it is a rare sight as films these days are released in huge number of screens unlike earlier where movies were released in a limited number of screens.
Kabali is believed to be made with the budget of Rs. 100 crore. The film has reportedly given profits to the producer, distributors and exhibitors. As per the trade reports, it has grossed over Rs 300 crore worldwide and made above Rs 100 crore at the overseas box office. Also, the film has earned about Rs. 225 crore from the sales of various rights and deals.
The movie, which minted Rs 87.5 crore at the worldwide box office from three versions (Tamil, Telugu and Hindi) on its opening days, has been written and directed by Pa Ranjith and produced by Kalaippuli S Thanu. The Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte-starrer film has broken many box office records and turned out to be one of the biggest hits of South India.
