Rajinikanth's "Endhiran 2", which was supposed to be launched on 12 December to coincide with the superstar's birthday, is likely to be delayed. The unprecedented rain in Chennai, leading to deadly floods is said to be the reason behind the possible postponement.
Sources from the production house had hinted at "Endhiran 2" movie launch plans earlier. It was said that the movie would hit the floors at a massive set erected outside Chennai with a formal pooja ceremony on 12 December.
However, the unexpected rain seems to be playing the spoilsport. Heavy rainfall has wreaked havoc on Chennai and people's livelihoods are at stake following the floods. Hence, the makers are having second thoughts about having the muhurat function on Rajinikanth's 65th birthday.
In the mean time, Rajinikanth and Shankar were in Los Angeles to finalise Rajinikanth's looks. The superstar underwent a body scan and special makeup test for the movie produced by Lyca Productions.
Raju Mahalingam, creative head of Lyca Productions, on Facebook has said that the movie would begin soon. He wrote, "With our LYCA group chairman Mr.Allirajah Subaskaran, the visionary who has decided to make our upcoming Superstar's Project as India's biggest one!!!! Magic to begin very soon!!!!"
A few days ago, Mahalingam shared a picture in which he and Rajinikanth are seen together. Meanwhile, there are reports that "Endhiran 2" launch might postponed by a week and the makers might have its muhurat on 18 December. But nothing has been confirmed yet.
"Endhiran 2" has Amy Jackson in the female lead role. The movie will reportedly be made with a budget of Rs 250-300 crore. The film will simultaneously be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages.
It is a sequel to "Endhiran", which was produced by Sun Pictures. The first instalment had Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the female lead.
