In recent years, Rajinikanth, who is turning 69 today, has made sure that he will be out of the city on this day. This year too, the Tamil superstar has given it a miss and he apologised to fans not being available. Speaking at the Petta audio launch, he said, "I will be out of town for my birthday (12 December) this year too. I apologise my fans if they are disappointed by my move."

Rajinikanth is considered as the biggest superstar ever in the Indian cinema. His fanbase includes not just common film-goers, but also superstars from Indian film industries.
