The questions over Rajinikanth's politics entry are likely to stay afloat for a few more months as the Tamil superstar will not open up on his plans in the days to come. Rajinikanth is likely to make the big announcement on December 12 on the occasion of his 67th birthday.
Strict guidelines have been given to members of his fan clubs not to take part in television debates without his consent, a source told The Hindu. His admirers are confident that he will finally take a plunge into politics and they expect him to make the big announcement on his birthday, the report adds.
"He has some great plans. It does look like he is serious this time," an actor, who was a part of his recent movie, was quoted as saying by The Hindu. Rajinikanth is set to meet his fans again in August.
Rajinikanth's political entry has been a mystery for decades now. Since his accidental brush with politics in 1996, the superstar has kept himself away from joining or supporting any party. It has not prevented political parties, including the BJP and Congress, from wooing the Enthiran star to join their fold.
Apparently, Rajinikanth revived his political dream following the death of J Jayalalithaa in December 2016 and the subsequent political chaos in Tamil Nadu. With the Opposition parties appearing to be weak due to various reasons, the superstar is believed to have made up his mind to take a plunge into politics.
During the meet, he advised his fans to concentrate on their work, but also asked them to be ready. He said: "I have responsibilities and works, same with you, let's do it, but when the ultimate war comes, we all will see."
