After Prakash Raj turned down the offer to play villain in Rajinikanth's next movie, director Ranjith has been busy finding an actor who can perform the powerful role with ease. Now, it seems he has decided to cast Sathyaraj in the role.
Pa Ranjith wants a versatile actor to do the role of the main baddie in his next movie with Rajinikanth. Initially, he had approached Prakash Raj, who turned down the offer due to date-related issues.
It needs to be seen whether Sathyaraj will accept the role, as there are instances when the actor had turned down the villain role. Notable among them are Rajinikanth's "Sivaji" directed by Shankar and Vijay's untitled movie, being directed by Atlee Kumar.
Rajinikanth and Sathyaraj had teamed up three decades ago in "Mr.Bharath" and it worked well, especially the song "Ennama Kannu", which is popular even today.
Coming back to the movie, the other cast members include Kalaiarasan and Attakathi Dinesh. Radhika Apte will play the female lead in the forthcoming Tamil film, which has Murali's cinematography, Santhosh Narayanan's music and Praveen KL's editing.
The forthcoming flick was supposed to take off on 2 August, but got delayed as the director was busy with the pre-production works. It is now likely to go on floors by the end of this month.
There are rumours that the name of the movie is "Kali" and the shooting will be mainly in Malaysia. As Rajinikanth plays the role of a gangster, the makers have zeroed in on the name, which is apt one for the storyline, suggest reports.
