The trailer of superstar Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiyaan", which has been making news ever since it was launched, is expected to be released on 9 June, according to media reports.
Fans of the superstar are eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of their favourite actor in "Kochadaiyaan." The first look of the film, which was released in April, has already generated a lot of buzz among film buffs.
"Kochadaiyaan" trailer was expected to be launched at the recently concluded Cannes Film Festival in France but it didn't happen much to the disappointment of the superstar's fans around the world.
"We were initially planning to go there, but we wanted to ensure that the trailer was cut well and in the best format. That was taking time. So, we have rescheduled it and will be releasing the trailer soon," the producer of the film, Murali Manohar had earlier told a leading daily.
The latest buzz is that "Kochadaiyaan" trailer might be released on 9 June (Sunday). However, there is no official confirmation on the report and director Soundarya tweeted that she would give the updates about the film directly to the fans. She also requested the fans not to believe in rumours.
"Hey guys ... I connect with u directly. Any updates about movie I will give u. Pls don't believe rumours. Have a great day !" Soundarya tweeted on the microblogging site Twitter.
"Kochadaiyaan" is said to be the first Indian film to use state-of-art motion capturing techniques in 3D. Rajini will be appearing in a dual role - as a father and a son. The actor is making a comeback of sorts in Tamil film industry after taking a two-year hiatus due to ill health. He was last seen in Shankar's 2010 blockbuster, "Endhiran" ("Robot").
The "Kochadaiyaan" crew is currently busy with the post-production work. Earlier reports suggested that "Kochadaiyaan" might hit the theatres in July, but there is no official word on it.
Bollywood lass Deepika Padukone is paired opposite Rajini for the first time in the film. The rest of the cast include Sarathkumar, Nassar, Shobana, Jackie Shroff and Adi. Oscar winner A R Rahman will be composing music for the film.
