Superstar Rajinikanth is all set to watch his son-in-law Dhanush's upcoming film "Raanjhanaa" before its theatrical release.
"Raanjhanaa", releasing on 21 June, marks Dhanush's debut in Bollywood. Dhanush is equally nervous and excited about his first Hindi film, where he will be seen sharing screen space with Sonam Kapoor. Interestingly, Dhanush has won appreciation from some of the leading stars of Bollywood - Ranbir Kapoor and Aamir Khan. Next in line is Rajinikanth, who is expected to watch the film within a day or two.
Dhanush and the film's director will be arranging a special preview for the actor's family. Rajinikanth's family members including his wife Latha, daughters Aishwarya (Dhanush's wife) and Soundarya are expected to attend the special screening
"Director Aanand L Rai along with producer Krishika Lulla will travel to Chennai to host the screening. Rai hopes Raanjhanaa will manage to impress Rajini Sir, as much as his previous film Tanu Weds Manu did, if not more," a source told Mumbai Mirror.
Rajini is reportedly known to give harsh criticism when it comes to films. It remains to be seen if "Raanjhanaa" will impress the superstar, who has acted in more than 200 films.
Rajini himself made his Bollywood debut in "Andha Kanoon" which was released in 1983. The actor, who is treated as a demi-god by his fans down south, was not able to retain his popularity up north. Despite receiving appreciation for his work in some of the Hindi films, the actor could not achieve the kind of success that he still enjoys in south.
Exactly 30 years after Rajini's Bollywood debut, his son-in-law Dhanush is making his entry in Hindi films. It is yet to be seen if he would be able to break the jinx when it comes to south actors in Bollywood.
Interestingly, the actor has already bagged a role in Anand's bilingual film which is set to go on floors next year.
