The much-awaited trailer of "Lingaa" has been released along with the film's audio in a grand event held at Sathyam Cinemas in Chennai.
The trailer shows us what to expect from the film and reiterates that the Rajinikanth starrer will be a complete commercial entertainer with loads of action, romance and punch dialogues. The trailer is likely to boost the hype surrounding "Lingaa", which has already created huge expectations with its first-look motion poster and teaser.
The audio launch event was a grand affair with the presence of several stars including Rajinikanth, Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Shetty, director KS Ravikumar, Vijayakumar, singer Haricharan, Latha Rajinikanth and Santhanam among others.
There are five songs in "Lingaa" album rendered by renowned singers like SP Balasubramaniam, Srinivas, Haricharan and AR Rahman. The songs are available on iTunes and one can buy the original tracks in their website. Fans can also listen to the songs on the video sharing site YouTube.
Directed by KS Ravikumar, "Lingaa" is deemed as an action entertainer with Rajinikanth appearing in dual roles. Sonakshi and Anushka play the female leads opposite the superstar, while Santhanam is expected to provide the comic relief.
"Lingaa" cinematography is handled by Rathnavelu, while editing is done by Samjith Mhd. The film is produced by Rockline Venkatesh and he has sold the film's rights to Eros International for a whopping amount.
According to latest reports, Eros is likely fetch over ₹200 crore for the film even before it could hit the screens.
"There are huge numbers already in circulation, and it is a matter of time before the deals are signed on the dotted line. 55-60 crore are all set to come in for the satellite rights of the Tamil and Telugu version," a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.
"Further, 60-65 crore offer is already there for the taking w.r.t. Tamil theatrical rights in India. Telugu theatrical rights are further fetching them 30-35 crore. In addition, the film is being sold overseas for approx. 30 crore just for the Tamil version. In addition to this all, there are music rights which are with Eros," the source added.
"Lingaa" will be the superstar's first live action film in four years after "Robot" hit the screens in 2010. The actor's last release "Kochadaiiayaan," which released in May 2014, was India's first 3D film using motion-capturing techniques. The historical drama film failed to set the cash registers ringing and fans of the superstar will be hoping that "Lingaa" strikes gold at the box office.
The film is slated to release for Rajinikanth's birthday on 12 December.
