It was earlier reported that Rajinikanth would be teaming up with Pa Ranjith again after Kabali. The latest development about the movie is that the director has started the location hunt for the flick.
Reports say that Pa Ranjith has been in Mumbai for the last couple of days and scouting for good locations. The movie is said to be an action entertainer and the Mumbai backdrop seems to be perfect for the upcoming Tamil movie.
Mumbai brings the glorious memories of Baasha, the movie that redefined mass avatar of Rajinikanth. Hence, the commercial capital of India remains a special place for the fans of the Tamil superstar.
However, there has been a criticism of late on certain Tamil movies for having Mumbai backdrops for action movies. In recent years, Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Thalaivaa and Suriya's Anjaan were also shot in Mumbai.
It was said that people were bored of watching the action movies in same Mumbai backdrop again and again. But we have to wait and see whether Pa Ranjith will consider this point before deciding in on Mumbai.
The forthcoming movie will kick-start once Rajinikanth wraps up his next movie, "2.0" aka "Enthiran 2". Dhanush is collaborating with his father-in-law and superstar Rajinikanth for the first time. Wunderbar Films has churned out many successful movies, including Ethir Neechal, Velaiyilla Pattathari and Naanum Rowdydhaan.
Announcing the project, Dhanush had earlier tweeted: "I'm so proud and honoured to announce our production's next film #WunderbarFilms. [sic]." Initially, there were speculations that the latest movie will be a sequel to Kabali. But sources had clarified that the flick had a fresh story. Meanwhile, the hunt for the female lead is also on.
