The preparation for the launch of Rajinikanth's next movie is happening at a brisk pace. The young team lead by director Pa Ranjith is working on various aspects, including finalising the cast.
Pa Ranjith apparently enjoyed good relationship with the cast and crew of his earlier movie "Madras". Some of them are now sending feelers to be part of the team for Rajinikanth's movie.
The eagerness is high among youngsters who want to see Rajinikanth in flesh and blood after having seen him for years on celluloid.
Nonetheless, they are aware of Pa Ranjith's compulsions and realise the director cannot tweak the script just to fulfil their wish.
In the meantime, Kalaiarasan, who was seen as Anbu in "Madras", has been signed. He will be playing an important role in the flick in which Rajinikanth will be seen as an ageing gangster.
A major part of the movie will be shot in Malaysia and the remaining in Chennai.
Rajinikanth has reportedly taken a surprise break from his usual commercial roles for this movie in which he will be projected in an entirely different way.
Along with a bunch of young directors, Pa Ranjith is working on the screenplay and fine-tuning the script.
The untitled movie will take off in August. The shooting will be wrapped up at a rapid pace. It will be edited by Praveen KL and Santhosh Narayanan will compose music for the film.
Murali will handle cinematography and Ramalingam will be the art director.
Anbu and Arive will be handling the action sequence, while Rooban will take care of sound designing. Sathish will choreograph dance sequences for the Tamil movie which will be bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Dhanu.
