Superstar Rajinikanth is known to appreciate good films and the latest film to have earned his praises is Telugu actor Kalyan Ram's film "Om 3D".
Rajinikanth watched the special screening of "Om 3D", which is touted as the first Indian action film in 3D. The actor was apparently impressed with the technical finesse of "Om 3D" and showered praises on the film's crew.
"I have watched 'Om' and loved it. And to have learnt that it was made in a very less budget of Rs. 25 Cr makes it even more commendable effort. It is a work on par with Hollywood standards and I specially praise the makers and the hero Kalyan Ram for a great production and performance," Rajini was quoted as saying by Indiaglitz.com.
An elated Kalyan Ram said, "Its heartening to see such a huge star commends our product. I felt elated and felt as if my Grandfather Later NTR himself was patting my back."
Making 3D films seems to be the current trend in the south industry. Kalyan's "Om 3D" comes just weeks after Allari Naresh's "Action 3D", a film inspired from the first part of the "Hangover" franchise released last month. Interestingly, Rajinikanth's upcoming film "Kochadaiyaan" ("Vikrama Simha" in Telugu) is claimed as India's first motion capture photo realistic 3D film.
Kalyan Ram is said to have got the idea of making a 3D film in Telugu after watching Vikram Bhat's 2011 horror flick, "Haunted 3D". "I spoke to Sunil Reddy (director) about making our own 3D film and thus, began our journey," Kalyan told The Times of India.
The film has been in the making for the past one and a half years, owing to laborious work involved in making a 3D project. The action entertainer, produced under the banner NTR Arts, is slated to release on 19 July.
