Rajinikanth's hint at his possible political entry has met with mixed response. While his hard-core fans have welcomed his decision, a section of people have opposed him for different reasons. Actress Kasthuri, who is known for her straight-forward views, is one among them who is doubtful of Rajini making any difference in the politics.
The actress is of the opinion that a leader should have the ability to take immediate decisions when things are not in his favour. She feels a person who took years to make up his mind on entering politics would not make any difference. She wrote, "Can someone who cannot for decades make up their own mind be a decisive leader?"
Rajinikanth organised a 5-day fans meeting in Chennai last week. The superstar gave hints of entering politics and asked his fans to be ready for it. The actor stated that he would not be joining any party if at all he enters politics, thereby giving indications of floating a new party.
This meeting is the talk of the town in political circles and political pundits feel that Rajinikanth has apparently made his mind on joining politics finally after keeping them guessing for over two decades.
A few organisations have raised its objections over his political entry citing that he is not a Tamilian. Others feel that he is loved as an actor. Nonetheless, Rajini is not entering politics until he wraps up his next movie with Pa Ranjith.
Tamil Nadu politics hit a new low following the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Her AIADMK is divided into two factions and this has not helped the cause. On the other side, the opposition DMK seems to have lost its charm as it is also affected by the internal feud. As a result, Rajini seems to be seeing an opportunity to make a difference in Tamil Nadu politics.
