Tamil superstar Rajinikanth launched Dhanush's next movie, Velaiilla Pattadhari 2, popularly known as VIP 2, on Thursday, December 15.
The movie was launched with a formal pooja, and Rajinikanth tapped the clap for the opening scene, which was shot on Dhanush. The Tamil movie is directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya. The event was attended by the film's leading lady, Amala Paul, along with Latha Rajinikanth, producer Kalaippuli S Thanu, Samuthirakani, Saranya Ponvannan, Vivekh and others.
It is a sequel to the hit movie, Velaiilla Pattadhari, which had impressed the youth and the family audience. The Velraj-directed movie narrated the story of a youngster who was unwilling to sacrifice his dream, although his family exerts pressure on him to find an alternative career.
The struggles that he face as an unemployed youth and the challenges before him when he gets his dream job are the interesting parts of the story. However, the latest movie is not a continuation of Velaiilla Pattadhari.
Velaiilla Pattadhari 2 also sees changes in the technical team. Soundarya has replaced Velraj as the director while Sean Roldan has stepped into the shoes of Anirudh Ravichander as the music director of the film. However, Anirudh's background score and theme tracks will be retained.
The Tamil film is directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth. Her brother-in-law and multifaceted actor Dhanush is bankrolling the movie under his home banner of WunderBar Films, in association with Kalaippuli S Thanu's V Creations.
