Rajinikanth is the latest celebrity to praise recently-released movie "Joker." The movie, which does not feature a star in the cast, has been overwhelmingly appreciated by critics as well as the audience.

Rajini, who is basking in the success of "Kabali," took Twitter to appreciate "Joker." He wrote, "I applaud the team of #joker, brilliant film! [sic]." The superstar rarely tweets and his post on the latest Tamil movie has been welcomed by cine goers. So far, his tweet has got over 2100 retweets and over 5300 likes.

Elated producer SR Prabhu confessed on Twitter that Rajini personally called him to congratulate the team. He wrote, "Got a call from the one & only @superstarrajini sir! Appreciated the whole team for #joker #magizhchi. [sic]"

"Joker" is made with a budget of Rs. 3 crore and it has earned over Rs. 2.6 crore in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in five days. Now, Rajinikanth's good words are expected to boost the collection of the movie at the box office.

Guru Somasundaram and Ramya Pandian are in the lead roles in the flick, which is written and directed by Raju Murugan of "Cuckoo" fame. The good content backed with wonderful performance from the artistes has impressed the viewers.
