In a bid to draw nationwide audiences to Anubhav Sinha's upcoming film "Ra.One," the South Indian superhero Rajinikanth has joined the "Ra.One" brigade with a cameo in the superhero film.
Despite his doctor's advice not to resume work till the end of November, the 60-year-old actor flew down to Mumbai to shoot a cameo role in "Ra.One" at Whistling Woods Studio, reported IBN Live.
The reports also mentioned that the ailing Rajinikanth decided to shoot the sequence at the Whistling Woods Studio Mumbai instead of a scheduled shoot at Ramoji Rao studio in Hyderabad on Oct. 4.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan, who wants to set a new trend with his superhero film, has left no stone unturned and has come out with some 50 products as an allied franchise ranging from graphic novels to social games and action figures for the film.
According to koimoi, a Web-based media, "Ra. One" has spent around Rs. 125 crore to make the film, and Rs. 25 crore on promotion.
"Every film has its own space. I am happy that in the recent past there are three or four films which have done great business. When it comes to box office, I hope even my film is good enough. We hope we will be able to touch the success of those films," said Shah Rukh who is anticipating breaking the Bollywood box office records by his dream project.
"I have worked as an actor and producer in the film and I would love to get double returns," he added.
'Ra.One' which would be release in more than 3000 prints all over India is expecting to yield a distributor share of around Rs. 55-60 crore from Indian theatrical markets in its first week and around Rs. 40-45 crore from the overseas markets.
The 45-year-old Khan, who is busy in promoting "Ra.One", wants this dream to memorable as he plans to quit smoking after the film's release.
"I am waiting for 'Ra.One' to release and after that I will quit smoking once and for all. At least I will try," he said.
'Ra.One' will release on October 26 and will be release in Telugu, Tamil and German.
