Rajinikanth has wished Akshay Kumar all the success for his latest movie "Rustom" on Twitter. The Tamil superstar's post has been grandly welcomed by Akki's fans.
Rajinikanth posted, "Dear @akshaykumar ... I wish you all success for your forthcoming release #Rustom. [sic]" In about 16 hours, his post received close to 10,000 likes and over 3,700 re-tweets.
"Thank you so much Rajni sir. Would love for you to see it, [sic]" Akki responded to Rajinikanth's tweet. It has to be seen whether Akshay Kumar arranges a special screening of "Rustom" for the Tamil actor, who is basking in the success of "Kabali."
Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth are currently working together in the multilingual film, "2.0" aka "Enthiran 2." The movie, which is bankrolled by Lyca Productions, has Amy Jackson in the female lead role. The science fiction is a sequel to the 2010 blockbuster, "Enthiran." The Shankar-directed film will be released next summer.
Coming back to "Rustom," it is a crime-mystery, written by Vipul K Rawal and directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. Ileana D'Cruz plays the female lead in the film, which also features Arjan Bajwa, Esha Gupta and others in the cast. The film is reportedly inspired by the real life incident involving Naval officer KM Nanavati.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth's recent movie "Kabali" has done well at the Tamil Nadu box office. The film was simultaneously released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi on July 22. The Pa Ranjith-directed movie was made with a budget of Rs. 100 crore and has raked in over Rs. 300 crore worldwide from its versions in three languages.
