Tamil superstar Rajinikanth's "Kochadaiyaan" will release in July 2013, according to the film's co-producer Dr J. Murali Manohar.
The epic film starring Rajinkanth and Deepika Padukone is said to be the first flick in India to use to use motion capturing techniques in 3D, in the likes of Hollywood flicks such as "Avatar" and "The Adventure of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn."
Ever since the film went on floors, there has been lot of speculation about the superstar's role in the movie and its release date. Even as his fans are waiting to get updates about the flick, reports have emerged that the makers are planning a worldwide release in July in three Indian languages - Tamil, Hindi and Telugu - as well as in Japanese, French and Italian.
"July seems a feasible time. We should be done with all the post-production work by April. Actually we've left all the post-production decisions to Studio D. They decided to edit the film down to a playing-time of 2 Hours 5 minutes," film's co-producer Dr Manohar was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
Just a few days back, Rajinikanth, his daughter and film's director Soundarya R Ashwin, director K.S. Ravikumar watched the edited version of the "Kochadaiyaan." Rajini is said to have been thrilled with the final outcome.
Confirming the news, Soundarya posted a message on twitter saying, "One of THE most important days of my life. Kochadaiyaan locked :) Appa& ks Ravikumar uncle watched the entire movie and r thrilled!!! :):):)"
As of now, there is no word about the film's audio release. Soundarya and her team are reportedly busy with post-production and dubbing work. Soundarya is expected to leave for China and London to work on the visual effects of the film.
The film has garnered more interest among Rajini fans worldwide, as this would be his comeback film post his illness. The superstar's last outing "Endhiran" (Robot), released in 2010, was one of the highest-grossing Indian films.
Besides Rajini and Deepika, "Kochadaiyaan's" star cast includes actors Jackie Shroff, Nassar, Aadhi and Sarath Kumar playing significant roles. Oscar winning music director A.R. Rahman will set the score for the film.
