Tamil superstar Rajinikanth watched Shivaraj Kumar starrer "Shivalinga" Thursday evening, Feb.18. The Kannada film has impressed the actor, who might star in its Tamil remake.
The makers of the movie had organised a special screening in Chennai. Confirming the news, PR Nikkil Murugan tweeted, "@superstarrajini watching PVasu's #Shivalinga in Chennai now...! Tamil remake plans are in talks."
Rajinikanth liked the content of Shivalinga" and appreciated the performance of Shivaraj Kumar. Also, he had good words for P Vasu for churning out a neat horror film. The Kannada movie marks the acting debut of the director's son Shakti, who has done an important role in the flick and the Tamil superstar had a special mention about him too.
Nikkil Murugan added, "Our @superstarrajini congratulated the Duo P.Vasu & Shakthivasu for their Tremendous Performance in 'Shivalinga.'" However, Rajinikanth is yet to give his nod to the remake. The actor is currently busy with gangster flick "Kabali" and science-fiction "Endhiran 2" aka "2.0."
While the shooting of "Kabali" has been completed and the film will hit the screens in April, the filming of "Endhrian 2" is progressing at a rapid pace.
P Vasu and Rajinikanth have worked in many films in the past. Notably, the filmmaker had earlier remade his Kannada film "Apthamitra," which itself was inspired by the Malayalam blockbuster "Manichitrathazhu" in Tamil with Rajini starring in it. But it is also well known that the superstar had turned down the offer to act in its sequel "Aptharakshaka" a few ago for some reason.
Meanwhile, the good words said by Rajinikanth is expected to boost the collection of "Shivalinga" at the box office. After opening to rave reviews last week, the film has done an earth-shattering business. In just four days, it has minted above Rs 13 crore.
