Even before fans and the film fraternity are done mourning the sad demise of India's legendary superstar Rajesh Khanna on Wednesday, disputes over the actor's property have started creeping in.

Kaka, as he was fondly known, lost his fierce battle to cancer and breathed his last at his carter road bungalow 'Aashirwad', holding the hands of his lady love Anju Mahendru and estranged wife Dimple Kapadia on July 18.

Amidst the entire family gathering bidding a final farewell to the iconic star, there was a particular person who felt completely ostracized.

It was Kaka's live-in partner Anita Advani, who took care of the ailing actor for eight long years and was supposedly the woman whom he planned on marrying a few years ago.

Sources told a daily that Advani was cold shouldered by Kaka's son-in-law Akshay Kumar at his grand funeral procession on Thursday, while she was trying to get on to the hearse vehicle.

"During the procession that started from the actor's home, Advani attempted to climb into the vehicle carrying Kaka's body. However, Akshay [Kumar] spotted Advani and asked her to get off, as the vehicle was only for family members," Mid Day quoted a source as saying.

Advani herself admitted the same to the tabloid, saying that the family's hostile attitude irked her more and raised fears that she may be evicted from the actor's property following his death.

"He (Rajesh Khanna) had started pushing me away. There were days where he didn't even want to speak to his own family. They began isolating me, and I had begun to feel lost," Advani told the daily.

To save herself from any possible evictions, Advani reportedly sent a notice to the family asking for a share in Kaka's property.

"I sent that notice when I was annoyed without him, I had nowhere else to go. But I never thought I would actually lose him. The timing was really bad," Mid Day quoted Advani as saying.

Apparently, Khanna had wished that his sea-facing mansion would be converted to a museum after his death and both his daughters had agreed to it.

However, a heartbroken Advani had her own reasons to object.

A source close to her told the daily that "For the last one month, the family has been trying to oust Advani from the house, where she claims she has been living with Khanna for the last eight years. This is why she sent the notice."

The notice sent via lawyer Mridula Kadam, just hours after the death on Tuesday, also charged Kaka with domestic violence.

According to a Zee News report, the superstar left behind a legacy of more than ₹2 billion.
