Kannada actor Yash, who is now basking on the success of KGF: Chapter 1, opened up on the rumours of his 'role' in director SS Rajamouli's upcoming movie RRR starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan.
It was recently rumoured that Yash would play the main antagonist opposite Ram Charan and Jr NTR in Rajamouli's most-awaited film RRR. It was believed that the director hence, attended the pre-release event of KGF: Chapter 1 held in Hyderabad. But the Kannada actor, who was in the city to promote KGF, denied the rumours.
"I read reports that I was part of Rajamouli's RRR and that's why he attended my film function in Hyderabad. It's not true and is false news. He attended with no such agenda, and saw the visuals of the film. I am very thankful to Rajamouli sir who graced my event and encouraged the film. I was really nervous whether my film would live up to his expectations, but now I am very happy about my film doing very well in Telugu," Yash said.
Many speculations were made on the roles of Jr NTR, Ram Charan and their heroines in the movie. But the director has kept everything under wraps. The film unit completed the first schedule in the first week of December and they will resume its shooting after the marriage of SS Rajamouli's son Karthikeya.
Meanwhile, Yash's KGF: Chapter 1 has struck a chord with audience from across the country. The movie has collected around Rs 100 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the first week. It has become the highest grossing film for the actor, who was recently busy touring the Telugu states to thank the audience for making his film hit.
Yash shared a video on his Twitter account on December 26 and wrote, "KGF has brought me closer to a lot of people now. Had a wonderful experience while visiting the theatres in Tirupathi for #KGF! I am overwhelmed by all the love and support from the people there. Truly honoured by the response "
