Director SS Rajamouli has reportedly preferred actress Shriya Saran over Lavanya Tripathi and Shruti Haasan for the role of Rana Daggubati's wife in "Baahubali: The Conclusion," the second instalment in the "Baahubali" series.
Rana Daggubati was seen as Bhallaladeva in "Baahubali: The Beginning," while Adivi Sesh appeared as his son. But the movie did not feature Bhallaladeva's wife. It is reported that the audience would get a glimpse at his wife in its sequel titled "Baahubali: The Conclusion," which is scheduled to release in theatres on April 14, 2017.
It is rumoured that actress Shriya Saran has been roped in to play the role of Bhallaladeva's wife in "Baahubali: The Conclusion." The actress, who was last seen Ajay Devgn's "Drishyam," does not have a new project in her kitty. She is reportedly joining the team of "Baahubali" to shoot for her portions.
Speculations about the casting for the role of Rana Daggubati's wife were being made a couple of months after SS Rajamouli's announced "Baahubali." It is rumoured that the makers of the movie were considering the names of actresses like Lavanya Tripathi, Shruti Haasan and Shriya Saran, who were said to be top contenders for the role of Bhallaladeva's wife.
In March 2013, it was reported that Lavanya had completed her audition and look test for "Baahubali" and director SS Rajamouli was impressed and decided to rope in her for the role. But director had instructed the actress to lie low until a formal announcement about it is made. However, Lavanya had denied the reports about the auditioning for "Baahubali."
