Raj Kundra's penchant for purchasing penthouses and other properties is well known in bollywood circles and in the business world. 

The british-born business man reportedly purchased a 3000 sqft duplex apartment in Noida as a gift for his actress wife Shilpa Shetty. In 2009, Kundra gifted a ₹7 crore flat in Central London to Shilpa on her birthday.

The luxury residence Supernova located at sector 94 in Noida is the tallest building in the area with 80 floors.

"He had been visiting Noida frequently. Obviously he had beencheckingoutproperties there." Apparently, Kundra wanted to surprise his wife and new baby with a present," a source told Times of India.

Kundra was not available for a comment but his friend said, "This is his gift to Shilpa. He owns a property in the tallest building in Dubai. And now, he has one in the tallest building in India."

Kundra recently thanked his wife's status and said that he loves the privilege given to him after he married the Bollywood diva. Shilpa married Raj in November 2009 and gave birth to their first child, Viaan Raj Kundra, on May 21, 2012.   

 Many people who marry celebrities find it difficult to deal with the stardom status, but Kundra is happy enjoying the new role and the treatment he is receiving, especially the VIP treatment meted out to the couple. 

"Being married to a celebrity has its own perks. Be it making a trip to Lucknow with Shilpa to launch her spa and salon or going for a darshan at Siddhivinayak, we get VIP treatment everywhere. It's all thanks to Shilpa's stardom," he said.
