Even though Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has managed to gain some traction in Gujarat before the first phase of voting in the ongoing Assembly elections, in an embarrassing turn of events, the Congress leader on Sunday was greeted by chants of "Modi Modi" during his visit to Dakor's Ranchhodji temple in Gujarat's Kheda.

Rahul went to offer prayers, however, when he was leaving the premises, a huge crowd that gathered at the entrance of the temple started shouting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's name.
As the garlanded Rahul was being escorted by a priest and the security guards to his car, the mob can be heard chanting Modi-Modi in the background.

However, this is not the first time that Rahul faced such an incident.
On November 8, when Rahul had visited the textile market in Surat to mark the anniversary of Modi's demonetisation initiative, he was welcomed with slogans of "Modi, Modi" and "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".

This is Rahul's second temple visit after his Somnath temple darshan before the first phase of voting. He will also be visiting the Shamlaji temple in the Aravalli district of Gujarat and will also be addressing four rallies at Kheda, Banaskantha, Aravali and Gandhinagar.
