After Shah Rukh Khan announced that Raees will be released on the same date when Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil is out, Rakesh Roshan took a sweet jibe at SRK.
Both Raees and Kaabil were initially slated to be released on January 26, 2017. However, the makers of the Hrithik-starrer a few days back announced that Kaabil will hit the screens on January 25.
Shah Rukh today released the trailer of Raees that revealed that his film will also be out on January 25. It appeared that Shah Rukh and the makers of Raees deliberately want the box office clash.
Kaabil producer Rakesh Roshan was asked about the release date of Raees being shifted to the same day of Kaabil and he told SpotboyE, "Happy to know that they are following me and my business experience."
However, Shah Rukh during the trailer launch told media that the release date was decided long back.
"Actually, we had decided it long back because initially both the films were supposed to be released on January 26. We had stopped our discussion at the point where it was confirmed that both the movies will be out together. So we had decided with our exhibitors and distributors that we should release on January 25.
Raees vs Kaabil trailer: Which one impressed you more? [VOTE]
"Kaabil will be out on the evening shows but Raees will be available on the regular shows. So, there is nothing like we decided it after or before them. I think it is a logical decision to cash on a day before the holiday. It was a marketing thought to announce the release date of Raees just on the day of its trailer release," Shah Rukh said.
Nevertheless, this is going to be a huge box office clash and considering the hype around both the films, it is hard to predict which movie will have a better opening at the box office.
